Find your way to Hotell Vildmarken
By car or motorhome
Långserud is located on the E18 between Oslo and Karlstad, midway between Årjäng and Grums. Vildmarken is signposted from the E18 at Esters Cafe in Långserud, and on road 175 between Arvika and Nysäter at Gillberga.
When you travel on the E18, look out for Långserud. Here you will find the road sign towards Vildmarken, which leads you on a small road northwards for about 5 km.
The road is small and curvy, and turns into a gravel road, but this should not be a problem for a normal car.
After about 5 km there is a road sign for Finnerud, a sharp turn onto a minor road that takes you to the small village of Finnerud. When the road reaches the lake, at the T-junction, turn right and continue for 1.5 km before keeping right up a slight climb and you have the hotel on your left.

By bike
Hotell Vildmarken is strategically located for those cycling north-south between west Sweden and Dalarna, or east-west between Norway and Sweden. The Union Trail (Union members) passes about 12 km from Hotell Vildmarken. Here you have the opportunity to wash clothes, fix the bike, eat well and sleep in a comfortable bed.
By train or bus
Hotell Vildmarken is located about 15 minutes from the E18 motorway, which runs between Oslo and Stockholm. This means that there are daily buses from Oslo and from Stockholm, Örebro, Karlstad that stop in Knöstad interchange.
If you are travelling from the south, there are several trains a day between Gothenburg and Säffle.

By air
The nearest international airports are Oslo/Gardemoen and Gothenburg/Landvetter.
Both are about 2-3 hours travelling time from Vildmarken, and it is easy to get to us by train and bus. We offer to pick you up at Knöstad bus stop or Säffle train station for a small fee.
